Useless homepages

I’ve got a Cingular 8525 that is the bee’s knees when it comes to mobile surfing and connectivity in general. It’s packed full of all the wireless technologies you can think of: 802.11g, Bluetooth 2.0, and UTMS/HSDPA. It’s really fantastic.

Why then, are we continued to be presented with this crappy default homepage?

Default Homepage

Well, I decided to take matters into my own hands. We’ve got the technology to access the ‘net in all its various forms whenever we want with this device, why not use it?

I’ve created a simple HTML Document (option click to download if you’re on a Mac. On a PC, right click) that I can use as my default homepage for all my favorites. But that’s what bookmarks are for, right? Right. But I’ve extended the document a bit to also include links to various media streaming sites so that I can have one click access to all the sites I’d like to listen to/watch. This is a work in progress but it will surely make my life much easier to get to all the streaming sites I read about without having to remember the URLs or hope I can find it when I’m looking for it.

If you’ve got any questions about how to customize this page to your own liking, let me know and I’ll try to help. You can even edit it on your 8525 (or other wireless device) for on the fly organization magic!
