Glad I could help! I've since moved on to the 8525 because I couldn't quite get used to the Smartphone version of the OS but I really liked the form of the Blackjack and I miss the small size.

Hey Sammy,

So much paperwork comes in that it's hard to keep track. Getting your contract is a nightmare, IF they can find it. A lot of smaller stores (esp. authorized 3rd parties) do not keep good track of the contracts.

I am having fun with SprintNextel (now Sprint) and they have a HORRIBLE "retention" department with rude reps and supervisors that scream at you.

Fill out a BBB complaint, then fill out CGB 475 online with the Federal Communications Commission.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil... still having fun with Nextel.

That's an interesting strategy. Is it that they just don't keep them on file?

Another very simple way to cancel any cellular phone contract

Work for me with T-Mobile, Cingular, Sprint, U.S. Cellular

Work best is the contract is atleast 6 months

Call customer services
me - when is my contract over
rep - In a ____ months
me - I thought it would be over by now
rep - no sir you still have ___ months
me - I would like to recieve a copy of the original contract
rep - let me see if I can find you one and send it to you when I have it
they will not contact you back bc they can not find one
give them a week call them back and request one imidiately

I try it four times and none of them can find me a contract.
Cingular did attempt to send me a brand new contract and ask me to sign it.
U.S. Cellular it took them almost a months trying to locate one before giving up
Sprint and T-Mobile 1 week and they give in.

tips:
- ask to speak to floor manager or anyone that are higher to resolve your problem
- they always try to make it very logical that your contract usually last a years if you start in october your contract will end in october. Ignore it and ask for a copy of your contract.
- call back and complain that you need the contract immediately bc you want to read all the terms and condition again.

I'm not letting this go but not everyone cares enough to make it happen. My wife asked me, after my time on the phone, if it was worth it. She understands my need to "stand up" for my principles, but I wonder some times... I hate that we have to work so hard to be treated fairly.

I would feel the same way. Something like that would make me cancel my contract immediately just out of principle. Unfortunately, Cingular seems to always be playing games with people.

"While I also use google maps mobile, I found that Windows Live Search Mobile is also a nice app with GPS support (wls.live.com). It comes in both windows mobile app version and J2ME version."

I'll have to check out that Windows Live app. I have a tendency to avoid most things Microsoft if I can, but I'll try to approach it with an open mind.

The bigger issue for me is the lack of a decent web-browser. What's the point of all that 3G speed (and requisite battery drain) if the browser you're using sucks? I can see how fast 3G is when I download something and I'm reminded how bad PIE sucks when I browse. Is Opera mini better?
